More than 300 editorials across the US have condemned President Donald J. Trump’s attacks on the free press. Trump has labeled journalists enemies of the people on numerous occasions, including in tweets, at rallies, and in interviews.
The Boston Globe, which has spearheaded the coordinated effort, had called on others to join the action with their own words, stating that “replacing a free media with a state-run media has always been a first order of business for any corrupt regime taking over a country.”
Trump condemned the action in a series of tweets, attacking The Boston Globe and other editorials for partaking in “collusion”. According to Trump, the editorials are guilty of spreading fake news.
The Institute for Nonprofit News, of which Coda Story is a member, joined the Globe’s action and published an editorial as well. Read it in full below:
